INDIAN Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited India-occupied Kashmir and announced some packages. The main reason for his visit was the inauguration of a tunnel between Jammu and Srinagar which decreased the distance by about 41km between them.
During his speech, Modi asked people to choose tourism over terrorism. On the other hand, during his visit a large part of the held valley was shut down owing to a call from the Kashmiri leaders, who have been struggling either for independence or merging with Pakistan.
They said the tunnelorother packages would not satisfy the people of Kashmir because Kashmir was a political issue and not a governance-related issue.
A few hours after Modi`s visit a grenade attack occurred on the policemen in which seven officers were injured and one died in hospital.
I hope New Delhi will understand the message and will be able to realise the real issue.
