DERA GHAZI KHAN: A Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) constable on the Indus Highway died after being run over by a speeding dumper truck on the Indus Highway on Sunday.
According to a police spokesperson, the PHP officer, Bismillah Khan (Badge No.
13845/C), a resident of Muzaffargarh, was on duty at the Shahwali check post when a recklessly driven dumper truck ran over him. He died on the spot.
The truck driver was arrested, and the vehicle was tal(en into custody by police.
District Police Of ficer (DPO) Farooq Amjad said the driver would be brought to justice.
The incident highlights concerns over reckless driving on highways, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of traffic laws to protect law enforcement personnel and civilians alike. Correspondent
