RCCI puts up a colourful show

RAWALPINDI: A colourful show was organised by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) including folk music and dances to highlight the cultural hues of the various areas of the country.

The event was attended by a large number of people from various walks of life. Audience members were enthralled by the Sufi music presented by the Bakhshi Brothers and classical dance by Umair Arif. Both performances received thundering applause and standingovations.

Inaugurating the event, RCCI President Syed Asad Mashadi said that the chamber has taken the initiative of holding a shopping festival for the first time in Pakistan, on the same pattern as Dubai. He said such type of events would also be held in the future as the residents have given a positive response by actively participating.

He said various events had been organised over the last week in connection with the Rawal Shopping Festival and the events attracted people from different age groups and different interests. The attractionsincluded a vintage car show, cycle race, musical programs, and prize distribution through computerised balloting.

He said that a kids carnival will also be organised soon and on the last day ofthefestival, May 17, a grand lucky draw would be organized and a number of prizes worth million of rupees would be given to the winners.

He said that so far in two different lucky draws, 11 motorcycles, 2 Ummrah tickets and a number of other valuable prizes including household and electronic gadgets have been handed over to the winners.
