OKARA: A gunman died by his own accomplices near Lahorianwala in the Chuchak police jurisdiction late on Tuesday, District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Rana told reporters on Wednesday.
The DPO said Chuchak Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Yousaf was patrolling the area when he was alerted that four gunmen had struck some people near Lahorianwala. The SHO with his team rushed to the spot and also called in reinforcement predicting shootout.
As they arrived in the area, gunmen started firing at police which was retaliated. They taking cover of fire took refuge in crops. After sometime, when guns fell silent, police found a body in the field, and the deceased was later identified as Yousaf Tahir, alias Yousfim, of Pattoki. The other three fled the scene.
The DPO said Yousfi was wanted by Kasur and Okara police in about a dozens of heinous crimes cases. Correspondent
