Man shot dead, five others injured in separate robbery incidents

ISLAMABAD: A man was murdered and five others were injured during separate robbery incidents in the capital while criminals looted cash and valuables at 24 other places on Monday.
Police said robbers intercepted Mohsin Ali, a resident of Chakwal, on Islamabad Expressway near Fizaia Chowk and shot him dead on resistance.
A murder case was registered at the Koral police station on the charges of murderandrobberyinresponse to a complaint lodged on behalf of the state by Inspector Mohammad Akram.
Two persons armed with a pistol and dagger intercepted a loading pickup of a company operating at Sabzi Mandi at I-10/2 and looted Rs500,000. When the three robbery victims disembarked from the pickup and put up resistance, one of the robbers attacked them with the dagger and injured them.
In another incident, two persons armed with weapons raided the house of Zain Rasool Awan and looted gold ornaments worth Rs6 million and cash Rs600,000.
The robbers beat and injured the house servant when he put up resistance and also took away a car.
Four persons raided a shop at H-13 and held up the workers at gunpoint andsnatched Rs70,000 and two mobile phones from them.
Three armed persons raided the shop of Qasim Mehmood at Dhoke Awan and looted cash and 12 mobile phones worth Rs585,500. Three armed persons intercepted Islam Gul near Nescom Hospital and snatched Rs70,000 and a mobile phone from him, said the police.
Burglars broke into the house of Shabnam Ashraf at E-11/1 and made off with gold ornaments worth Rs4,800,000. Cash Rs18,000 and valuables were also stolen from the house of PervaizAkhteratMerabadi.
Burglars also broke into the house of Kulsoom Munawar and made off with gold ornaments, Rs280,000 cash and a mobile phone.
Moreover, three tola gold ornaments and Rs200,000 were stolen from the house of Shafiq Ahmed Awan at F-17/3.
Burglars broke into the house of Nusrat Mushtaq at Madina Town and made off with Rs30,000, while a man in the disguise of a taxi driver stole a purse of Anis Liaquat containing Rs800,000 and gold ornaments at PTV Colony.
Meanwhile, a car was stolen in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) while another was lifted from I-8/1, the police said, adding nine motorcycles were also lifted from Blue Area, G-11/4, G-9 Markaz, I-14/1, Bilal Town, Golra, Shah Allah Ditta and Khanna.
