Thunderstorm expected in coming days

RAWALPINDI: As Cyclone Biparjoy barreled toward Sindh`s coastal belt on Tuesday, the country can expect wind-dust/thunderstorm-rain in the coming days.
According to the Met Of fice, a westerly wave is likely to enter the upper parts of the country, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad on June 14 (Wednesday).
Maximum temperature recorded in the twin cities on Tuesday was 40°C. The hot weather coupled with electricity loadshedding made the lives of the citizens miserable. Bazaars and markets presented a deserted look as most people preferred to stay indoors.
Under the influence of this weather system, winddust/thunderstorm rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Bannu, Tank, Karak, Dera Ismail Khan, Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal and Lahore on June 14.
More rain-dust/thunderstorm with hailstorm (isolated heavy falls) is expected in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur in Kashmir, Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche and Shigar in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Similar weather is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Bannu, Tank, Karak, Dera Ismail Khan, Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attocl(, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Narowal, Sialkot, Kasur, Lahore, Jhelum, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Mandi Bahauddin, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, D.G. Khan, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahimyar Khan from June 15 to 18 with occasional gaps.
Farmers have been advised to manage their activities keeping in view the weather forecast while tourists have been asked to remain cautious to avoid any untoward situation.-Staff Reporter
