ISLAMABAD: The Israeli airstrikes on Iran on Friday drew widespread condemnation with people from different walks of life terming it a blatant violation of Iran`s sovereignty and a serious breach of international laws.
Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party President and Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan warned that such aggressions posed a grave threat to regional peace and stability.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Mr Khan said people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Iranian brethren in this difficult time. He said such reprehensible actions cannot distract the world attention from ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza.
He urged the international community to play a constructive role in halting Israel`s aggressive actions which are pushing the region towards further instability and conflict.
Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman Allama Dr Mohammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi said the expansionist ambitions of the Zionist state posed a serious threat to global peace.
`This Israeli aggression could potentially spark a third world war,and thus global powers must act to prevent further escalation between Israel and Iran.
He emphasised that Iran has the legitimate right to defend itself and respond to these military attacks, which constitute a severe violation of its sovereignty.
Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also slammed the Israeli attacks on Iran describing it as an act of `open terrorism` and a serious threat to world peace.
Expressing solidarity with Iran, he added, `In this hour of difficulty, I sympathise with the people of the brotherly country.
He said the airstrikes exposed what he termed `Israel`s evil intentions`, adding that the international community`s failure to hold Israel accountable had emboldened its aggressive actions.
Maulana Fazal expressed disappointment over the inaction of global institutions, stating that bodies like the United Nations had become ineffective when it comes to Israeli aggression.
`If Israel is not reined in, world peace will be in danger,` he cautioned and added, `The hands of Zionism are stained with human blood.
He said Muslim Ummah can only fight Zionism by being united.
Meanwhile, protest demonstrations were held across the country by Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen. In the federal capital, a large protest demonstration was staged outside Imambargah Asna Ashari G-6/2.
The protesters chanted slogans against Israel and the United States, condemning the unprovoked attacks by Israel on Muslim nations.
Chief of Jamaat Ahl-i-Haram Pakistan Mufti Gulzar Ahmed Naeemi has said what was happen-ing in Iran, Palestine and other Muslim regions was not a political or regional issue, but a systematic and continuous war against Islamic resistance and religious values.
He said, `The tyrant forces themselves have admitted that their goalis not to stop any nuclear programme or government system, but to uproot Wilayat-i-Faqih, the Islamic resistance leadership, and the supremacy of the Quran and Sunnah. This is a global conspiracy to enslave Muslims intellectually, ideologically, militarily and spiritually.
Awami Workers Party (AWP) also condemned Israel`s unprovoked attack on Iran, mourned the deaths of civilians and warned that the US-backed Zionist regime was threatening to spark not only unprecedented military conflict in the Middle East but also potentially in the world.
AWP secretary general Bakhshal Thalho said in a statement that the Israeli and US were the world`s biggest perpetrators of mass terror and had repeatedly demonstrated that they will act unilaterally and in complete contravention of all international covenants to both subdue the oppressed peoples of the Middle East as well as spark wider military conflagrations.
Pakistan People`s Party Workers (PPP-W) said the Israeli aggression would push the region into a war.
PPPW president Dr Safdar Ali Abbasi, Naheed Khan, Senior Vice President Fayyaz Ali Khan, Finance Secretary Ibne Mohammad Rizvi, and Vice President Advocate Amjad Baloch said the brazen act of aggression, resulting in the martyrdom of six prominent Iranian nuclear scientists and severe damage to critical infrastructure, constituted a clear violation of Iran`s sovereignty and international law.
