RAWALPINDI: A body recovered from a mini-dam near Kallar Syedan has been identified as that of a student of a seminary. The police said they had also arrested the alleged killers.
Mohammad Adnan, 16, was a native of Gilgit studying at Madressah Rehmania in Islamabad and was missing since May 23.
Police said the boy’s body was found in a mini-dam on June 10. Visiting cards found from the deceased’s pockets helped the police identify him.
SP Ghias Gul told Dawn that investigation found that the deceased had been friends with Mohammad Firdous, a wagon driver, who told him he could find him a job. vThe SP said the suspect allegedly called the boy to Pirwadhai bus stand and kidnapped him. Another individual, identified as Adnan Masood, also accompanied Firdous.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the alleged killers tried to sexually assault the boy, and later pushed him into the water. The suspects have also confessed to killing Adnan.—Staff Reporter
