LAHORE: A suspect who was arrested by the police for drug possession died after reportedly falling from the roof of the Ravi Road police station on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Ahmad, a resident of Barkat Town in Shahdara.

Ahmad was arrested for possessing 500 grams of Ice and 500 grams of charas.

On the day of the incident, he escaped from police custody and climbed to the rooftop of the police station building and attempted to jump to an adjoining building in an effort to escape.

However, he fell to the ground, sustaining multiple head injuries that resulted in his death.

Senior police officials have ordered an inquiry to determine any negligence on the part of police. Staff Reporter
