Seven dead in multiple road accidents in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: Seven people were killed in the past 24 hours in separate road accidents in the Bahawalpur district, while three suffered serious injuries.
According to Rescue 1122, five of a family, including a girl, were killed in a headon collision between a coach going to Bahawalnagar and a car coming from the opposite direction at Muhammad Panah More near Hasilpur at midnight on Saturday.
Rescue said that three occupants of the car, Muhammad Iqbal Niazi (50), AgeelaBibi (50) and Mahnoor (15), died immediately, while Asif Naveed (37) and Basit (8) succumbed to their wounds at the Hasilpur THQ hospital before dawn on Sunday. Three other passengers of the car, Shamim Bibi (37), Asif (14) and Wasif (7) were being treated at the hospital.
The Hasilpur Sadder police on the complaint of deceased Iqbal Niazi`s son, Zain Iqbal, registered an FIR under sections 322, 279, 427 and 337(G) of the PPC against the driver, who had fled from the scene. The police have yet to arrest him.
In another accident, motorcyclist Imran Iqbal (55) was killed while three others, including Rafiq (22) and Samreen (6) suf-fered serious injuries in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on University Road near Satellite Town. The body of the deceased and the injured were shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
In old Hasilpur area, Muhammad Ashraf (55) died when his over-speeding loader rickshaw overturned when he applied brakes after seeing animals blocking the road. His body was shifted to the Hasilpur THQ hospital.
ELECTROCUTED: A 14-year old girl, Shaista Bibi, was electrocuted from a pedestal fan at her house in Khangah Sharif on Sunday.
CONDOLENCE: Federal Minister forCommunication Abdul Aleem Khan condoled the deaths of two brothers, Usman Toore and Jabir Toore who were killed in Balochistan, with their family at their home in Mohallah Patialwali, Dunyapur.
Earlier, the minister also visited village 72/15-L in Khanewal and condoled the death of lance naik Ghulam Saeed with his family.
Ghulam Saeed was also killed near Quetta by unidentified terrorists and was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in the village.
Ghulam Saeed`s body reached his home yesterday and his father also died of shock by the news of his killing.
