Boy`s body retrieved from Ravi

OKARA: Rescue 1122 and police divers retrieved the body of a teenaged boy from the River Ravi on Saturday.

On Friday, Ali Raza and Sheharyar fell into the waters while taking their snaps, Gogera police said.

Divers found the body of Ali Raza near village mauza Akbar. Teams were still trying to find out Sheharyar.

ACE WALK: Aurangzeb Khan, athlete and peace activist, arrived in Okara on Saturday as part of his 40-day Karachi-to-Islamabad walk journey.

Saturday was the 28th day of his walk. Scores of civilsociety activists welcomed him. Aurangzeb told reporters his wall( mission aimed at expressing solidarity with the armed forces and spreading peace among the nation.

HELD: Acting District Police Officer Dr Farrukh Raza Malik told reporters that police had busted an eight-member gang and recovered Rs500,000, 24 mobile phones, illegal weapons, gold ornaments, a car and a motorcycle from them.

Those arrested included Kalimullah, alias Kala, Tasleem, alias Kaka, Muhammad Waseem, Goshi, Muhammad Rashid, Muhammad Akmal, alias Kodu, Pervaiz, alias Paji, and Muhammad Ashraf, alias Achhu.
