I WAS saddened to see no mention of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah on the occasion of his death anniversary in Dawn`s Sept 11 issue.

This is the day on which he passed away in Karachi 70 years ago. Mr Jinnah was the statesman who not only founded Pakistan but also laid the foundation of Dawn to serve as the spokesman of the subcontinent`s Muslims and the Pakistan movement.

It is very strange not to find a single word in Dawn about Jinnah on his death anniversary.

The only mention I found in this issue of Dawn was on Page 9 which carried a snippet f rom the issue of 1968 about his death anniversary.
