Law admission test
2018-09-14
T HE law admission test for entry into a five-year LLB programme was made compulsory by the honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar. The responsibility of conducting the test was given to the Higher Education Commission (HEC), which conducted the test on Aug 18.
Thousands of law-studies aspirants sat for the test that was conducted in all the country`s major cities. Three weeks later, though, the HEC has been unable to announce the results. Neither is it giving any satisfactory information about when the results will be disclosed.
All the universities are in confusion about the enrolment of students in their law departments; some have even conducted their own tests, ignoring the Supreme Court directive.
I request the chief justice to take note of this irresponsible behaviour of the HEC as well as of the law colleges.
