APROPOS the letter KPPSC exams (Sep 11). Over the past two years, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission has been transformed from an incompetent body into a professional institution.

The reforms made by the institution are commendable, for instance decreasing the target marks of the screening test from 40per cent to 20pc to appear for the examination. This has spurred many candidates on to attempt the writtenexamination. Moreover, a delay in the examination in not an issue if it provides a large number of candidates their due share in the state`s services. Besides, negative marking in ability tests, increasing the total marks from 100 to 400, and giving test marks weightage in the interview are quite appreciable moves.
