Be bold, PTI
2018-09-14
THE government took some bold steps like urging the Netherlands government to stop the contest which would have hurt the feelings of Muslins all over the world.
Then it nominated a brilliant world-renowned economist of Pakistani origin to the Economic Advisory Council. He was later dropped because the religious parties came out in strength to oppose him. The withdrawal of Atif Mian`s nomination may seem trivial but in principle it is a victory for the religious parties.
The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf received a heavy mandate f rom the people. This was not the time to show weakness. The prime minister should have approached the people and reminded them of the Quaid`s dream.
I say to Imran and the PTI. Be bold and give the people what they expect from you.
Don`t succumb to bigotry. You have the power which people have given you, use it.
