Buzdar steps into predecessor`s shoes, makes surprise visits

LAHORE: Following in the footsteps of his predecessor Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has begun making surprise visits to various government institutions.

Starting with his surprise visits to Rawalpindi commissioner, deputy commissioner and city policeofñcer [ofñces] three days ago, he reached the Arfa Karim Software Technology Park and E-Khidmat Markaz without any intimation here on Thursday.

He inspected different sections of the Punjab Information Technology Board and various facilities being offered there.

The chief minister said the government would improve organisational capacity of departments byusing latest information and communication technologies.

He said the scope of arazi (land) centres would be expanded to provide necessary reliefto the people.

He said a state-of-the-art chief minister`s complaint cell would be established through the technical support of PITB to immediately solve the problems faced by the people.

At the E-Khidmat Markaz thevisitors told him that an organised system was in place and they faced no difficulty there.

The CM said such centres should be set up in each district so that people could be accommodated at their doorsteps.

PITB Chairman Dr Umer Saif gave a detailed briefing to the chief minister about the IT-based reforms introduced in different government departments.
