Boy rescued from captors after one year

GUJRANWALA: The Cantonment police rescued a 14-year-old boy from his captors on Tuesday, who was kidnapped a year ago.

Muhammad Arif, of Khajurwali, got registered a case with the police last year that he runs a tea stall where Bashir Ahmad, of Bahawalpur, Naeem Shakeel, Daun, Saleem and Zeeshan, of Lodhran, came to drink tea and took away his son, Zeeshan Haider.

The police under the supervision of ASP Khurram Nawaz Tanoli worked on the case.

The captors continued to change their locations and f ailed police raids. The police, however, did not give up and Cantonment SDPO Muhammad Nawaz Sial, SHO Ameer Abbas and Thatta Dad post in charge ASI Malik Nadeem with the cooperation of security agencies traced Bashir and rescued Zeeshan f rom a location in Rahim Yar Khan.

He was found chained at a kiln. The boy was handed over to his f amily.

Zeeshan said his captors would put in hard labour.

The complainant has applied for the medico-legal test of his son to the local magistrate.
