SHANGLA: A truck loaded with buffaloes fell into a ravine after its brakes failed in Machar area of Alpuri here on Friday, killing its driver and injuring another person.

Rescue 1122 spokesman Rasool Khan Sharif said the truck was going from Swat to Bisham.

He said a rescue team retrieved the body and the injured from the ravine and shifted them to the District Headquarters Hospital, Alpuri. The injured man was later referred to Saidu Teaching Hospital, Swat, in critical condition.

The rescue official said eight buffaloes also perished in the accident. Correspondent
