Man seeks registration of case against landlord

Bureau Report 2014-10-14
PESHAWAR: A doctor from Karak has appealed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, IGP and Peshawar High Court chief justice to order registration of a criminal case against a landlord who has forcibly removed equipment worth Rs1 million from his private clinic on Nasir Bagh road in the provincial capital.

Dr Naseeb Khan Khattak told mediapersons here on Sunday that the landlord, Niaz Meen Wali of North Waziristan Agency, had removed equipments from his clinic to evict him from the property despite a stay order obtained from a local court five months ago.

He said that he had repeatedly approached the local police for registration of case against the landlord and had also filed an application for contempt of court proceedings against him, but the police were hesitant to book him and recover medical equipment from him.

He said that he had hired the house from the landlord on a three year contract on the condition that major repair and renovation of the property would be responsibility of the tenant and that the cost would be met through concession in monthly rent.

Dr Naseeb said that after repair of the house, he and his daughter-in-law, also a medical doctor, opened a clinic there, but the landlord started teasing them on dif ferent pretexts to evict them from the building.

He said that the court of additional district and sessions judge had granted a stay on May 8, 2014, but only two days after the court order, the landlord stealthily removed the entire equipments from the clinic and locked the property.

He said that he had sent written complaints to the chief minister`s complaint cell, the IGP, the SHO Nasir Bagh police station and the special branch but no action was taken against the landlord.
