KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has declared the first of Muharram a holiday in Karachi on account of the death anniversary of Hazrat Umar Farooq.

Several ulemas belonging to different schools of thoughts met the CM and requested him to declare a holiday on account of Yaumi-Umar Farooq.

According to a statement issued by CM House, referring to the deliberations made by different ulema in the meeting, the CM announced Muharram 1 to be a holiday in Karachi.
