PESHAWAR: PML-N central senior vice president and adviser to the prime minister Amir Muqam on Thursday said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have rejected the PTI`s call for Islamabad lockdown on Oct 30.
He also claimed his party`s Oct 16 public meeting in Mardan would demonstrate that the PTI had lost popularity in the province.
Mr. Muqam told reporters at the Peshawar Press Club that PTI chief Imran Khan wanted anarchy in the country by playing negative politics but the PML-won`t allow him to do so.
`Our (party) workers will put up a `power show` against the PTI`s negative politics in Mardan on Oct 16 where sitting MPA Jamshed Mohmand along with supporters and sympathisers will formally join us (PML-N),` he said.
The PML-N leader said the Mardanpublic meeting would prove the KP people`s love for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
He said the ruling PTI had miserably failed to translate its `change slogan` into reality during the last three years and that the PML-N would ensure people`s welfare through massive development work in the province.
Mr. Muqam said the PTI had introduced negative political trends in the country, while its government in the province had miserably failed to mitigate the people`s socioeconomic woes andensure goodgovernance.
He said the people of KP were so disappointed with the PTI`s policies that they won`t vote for it in the next general elections.
The PML-N leader said Imran Khan talked much about accountability during rallies but didn`t allow the holding of his party`s ministers accountable for their corruption.
He flayed the PTI government`s `bil-lion-tree tsunami` campaign and declared it a `mere political gimmick`.
Mr. Muqam praised the federal government over pro-people initiatives and said only Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif knew how to lead the nation from the front and put the country on the path of development.
He said Imran Khan was among those in the country who pioneered offshore companies but ironically, he was protesting against offshore companies owned by Pakistanis.
The PML-N leader said the PTI chairman was a major hurdle to the progress and development of the countryandthathehadlosttheconñdence of a majority of his supporters and sympathisers.
He criticised the PTI chairman for boycotting the joint session of parliament on Kashmir issue and said such irresponsible attitude had proved that Imran Khan had no love for the country.
