Girls school wins international award

TOBA T EK SINGH: Government Girls High School, Chak 338-JB, Nawan Lahore, Gojra, has won the British Council`s International School Award (ISA) for teaching skills and activities of students aimed at promoting local culture, cultivation, embroidery, traditional games, hand wash, earth pot making and languages learning.

The skills were shared with the British Council international partner schools in the countries of Bangladesh, Lebanon, Afghanistan, India, Sri L anka and Nepal through Skype.

Sadia Khalid, the school`s headmistress, told the media that her school was selected as a partner school of British Council in 2015 and its activities built confidence among the teachers and students while teachers learnt new teaching methods. She said the award was a pride for her rural school and school education department and added that the British Council would soon invite the school to receive the award. Correspondent
