SIALKOT: A senior doctor was found dead at his private clinic on the congested Rangpura-Maharaja road on Friday afternoon.

According to police, some unidentified men had strangled Dr Mohsin Naqvi, 56, at his clinic. They claimed locals told them that two people entered the clinic and strangled the doctor while he was alone there. The culprits then fled f rom the scene.

Dr Naqvi was a senior child specialist deputed at Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital for several years.

Police could not determine the reason behind the murder till this report was filed. A large number of people, including doctors, gathered around the clinic to mourn the alleged murder.

When contacted, senior police officials said they were investigating whether the alleged murder was sectarian.

Police shifted the body to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital and started an investigation.
