SUKKUR: Jamaat-i-Islami central leader Maulana Asadullah Bhutto has said the JI will launch `Sindh Bachao Tehreek` with a convention in front of the Quaid-i-Azam mausoleum on Nov 26 and 27 to highlight problems plaguing Sindh.
Mr Bhutto, a former MNA and secretary general of the HumanRights Network Pakistan, told a press conference at the press club here on Sunday that his party was the first to launch a movement against corruption in 1986 under the dynamic leadership of late emir Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
Following in his footsteps, he said, the ñrst thing the present JI emir Sirajul Haq did after taking oath of office was announcing the launch of a movement for a `corrup-tion-free Pakistan`.
Again the JI was the first to file a petition against Panama Leaks in the Supreme Court though Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was using delaying tactics and not allowing the case to reach its logical end as soon as possible. Whatever might be the result, the JI would not step back now, he said.
He said that Pakistan Peoples Party had been ruling Sindh foreight years now but conditions were only getting worse for people and problems were multiplying because rulers did not care about people`s wellbeing, all they cared was filling their coffers with illgotten money.
Therefore, Mr Bhutto said, the JI had decided to launch `Sindh Bachao Tehreek` and as its first step `Sindh convention` would be held in front of Quaid-i-Azam`smausoleum on Nov 26 and 27.
Mr Bhutto saw it as a failure of Pakistan`s diplomacy that British prime minister did not utter a word for Kashmir issue nor condemn Indian atrocities in India-held Kashmir during her recent visit.
Pakistan must raise voice at all forums of the United Nations Organisation and other world forums against Indian atrocities in Kashmir, he said.
