MANSEHRA: With Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari slated to visit Abbottabad district next Thursday (Nov 16), the party`s leadership in Hazara division has decided to mobilise workers to accord a warm welcome to their leader during the visit.

`Bilawal Bhutto-Zardariwill be warmly welcomed in Abbottabad,` PPP divisional general secretary Aurangzeb Mughal told a gathering here.

He said the PPP was the country`s only political force, which rendered great sacrifices for the true democratic norms and people`s rights.

`We all [leaders and workers] are overjoyed that our leader [Bilawal] has accepted our invitation to visit Hazara division and address a public meeting in Abbottabad,` he said.

Mr Mughal said his party would win the upcoming general elections to form governments in the centre and provinces, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said Bilawal was the only leader, who, as the prime minister, could steer the country out of current political and economic crises.

On the occasion, PPP Mansehra general secretary Mohammad Fareed said the party`s workers would roll out the red carpet for Mr Bilawal during his visit.

`We`ll take a large convoy of vehicles to Abbottabad to accord a historic welcome to our leader,` he said.

PTI CANDIDATE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Monday announced that it would contest election in PK-38 constituency of Oghi tehsil here.

`As our former MPA, Nawabzada Fareed, has announced he would contest next election in Oghi as an independent contestant, we [PTI] have decided not to give him a walkover and to field own candidate against him,` PTI tehsil president Habibullah Basikhel told reporters in Oghi area.Mr Basikhel said the PTI would contest elections in other Mansehra constituencies as well. He said his party discussed election nominations and would hold more discussions.

Sources in the PTI said some `winning horses` were in contact with the PTI`s provincial and central leadership through the party`s parliamentary board to claim the party`s election ticket in PK-38.

They said three leading political families of Oghi eyed election nomination by the PTI but the party would decide about ticket after consulting its local chapter.

Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 has complained it continues to receive unnecessary calls in Mansehra district despite carrying out awareness campaigns.

`Our emergency control room received 3,355 calls last week and 700 of them were unnecessary, so they caused a waste of time,` the emergency service said in a statement here. Correspondent
