T HE Moon Garden issue unveiled horrible realities about property mafias because hundreds of inhabitants of Moon Garden were left helpless by their builders when the legal position of property was challenged and the builders of Moon Garden escaped.
I am experiencing the same situation by the builders of a plaza I am living in. I am a dweller of Heaven Residency, located in Gulistan i-Sajjad opposite Rajputana Hospital, Hyderabad. The project was started a few years back to design flats and this is beyond the knowledge of a layman whether the project was approved legally by the authorities concerned.
Although more than 50 families and some 100 bachelor students from different educational institutions live in these flats, the project lacks, in contravention of regulations, proper infrastructure and roads as well. People living here also faced a severe shortage of basic utilities like water, gas and electricity.
The authorities cut the connections of gas and electricity after their clash with the builder whereas the water is being provided after a gap of a week or 10 days. Whenever the builders and caretakers of the plaza are approached to discuss these problems, they ask people to stop demanding facilities or else face the music.
The commissioner of Hyderabad, the SSP and other authorities concerned should look into the matter and rescue hundreds of inhabitants from the builder mafia.
