SARGODHA: A special judge of the AntiTerrorism Court handed down death sentence on two counts and fined Rs500,000 each to two murder convicts here on Wednesday.

According to the prosecution, convicts Ghulam Murtaza and Ghulam Abbas Nisowana of Bhibrana, Jhang district, along with their accomplices had killed constable Mazhar Abbas on resist-ance during robbery on Jan 6, 2014, in Kotmomin.

Their remaining accomplices are still at large.

SECURITY: District Police Officer retired Capt Sajjad Hasan Khan Manj assigned the duty of seven DSPs, two inspectors, 27 SHOs, 172 sub-inspectors and 794 constables to ensure the security of polio teams all over the district.

Official sources said police officers had helped different teams in administering polio drops to 400,000 children at their doorstep.
