LAKKI MARWAT: The local police were equipped with modern technology to track and detect stolen and unregistered vehicles.

“The modern SIM technology will be helpful to control vehicle snatching and enable police to seize stolen vehicles as well,” said an official here on Friday.

He said that DPO Ismail Kharak handed over vehicle verification SIMs to the station house officers and in-charges of police stations and posts.

“With the use of latest technology, police will identify and track stolen vehicles within seconds,” the official said. He added that most of the stolen and unregistered vehicles were used in terrorist attacks and other crimes.

The modern vehicle verification SIM technology would enable policemen to control crimes, he added.
