MINGORA: Swastu Arts and Cultural Association in collaboration with Hunarkada, Islamabad, organised an exhibition to showcase the work of local artists and mark centenary celebration of great Pashto poet Ghani Khan in a local hotel here on Friday.
The works of local artists including calligraphy, painting, abstract art and wooden art were displayed in the exhibition, which would be continued for one month.
Apart from local artists including Murad, Nasir Sheen and Rafiullah, the paintings of an Afghan artist Zafar Ali were also displayed at the exhibition.
The artists highlighted different aspects of the life of Ghani Khan through their paintings.
`He was a great poet and loved to promote peace and love among the people,` said Usman Olasyar, the president of Swastu Arts and Cultural Association.
He said that people should respect their heroes.
He added that the basic aim of the exhibition was to spread the message of peace and love among youth.
