SIALKOT: In a meeting held in Tokyo on Tuesday, Japanese and Pakistani businessmen stressed on promoting business-to-business coordination for streng thening bilateral trade ties, a press release said.

Members of Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) met with a twelve-member delegation of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Mr Khawar Sapal.

Mr Sapal urged the Japanese government to relax duties on Pakistani products and allow easy access to Japanese trade markets.

The participants will hold B2B meetings with Japanese businessmen in Tokyo and Osaka. Japan is an important trading partner of Pakistan but the trade volume is below its true potential.

In 2015, Pakistan`s exports to Japan were $176 million while imports from Japan to Pakistan were $1.82 billion.
