JI, PTI blamed for politicising uplift projects

TIMERGARA: A local leader of JUI-F has blamed Jamaat-i-Islami and Pakistan Tehreeki-Insaf lawmakers for politicising development projects in the area.

Addressing a news conference at Timergara Press Club on Tuesday, former candidate for PK-94 Qazi Ayazud Din said that foreign funds were being used for getting political popularity. He alleged that JI had kept people of Dir in dark for the last 40 years.

Flanked by village council vice chairman Inamul Haq, councillor Khurshid Khan and Qazi Miftahul Islam, Qazi Ayaz said that PK-94, the home constituency of ProvincialMinister for Finance Muzafar Said, was ignored and its people were facing several problems.

He said that JUI-F central leadership got approved supply of natural gas to Qaziabad, Soghalay, Narai Shah, Ajoo, Dushkhel and Peto Darra but ANP and PML-N wanted to cash the project. He demanded of the government to award status of tehsil to Talash.

ACCIDENT: A woman was killed while three other people were injured when a car plunged into a ravine in Diaron area on Tuesday.

The car was part of a wedding party coming from Samar Bagh to Timergara.

The driver lost control over the wheel and the car plunged into a ravine. Mother of Adam Khan was killed in the accident while his niece, driver Noor Islam and Sher Mohammad received injuries.

EXAMS: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Malakand on Tuesday announced schedule for the 5th gradeexaminations.

Prof Jamil Ahmad, the controller of the board, said that 480 examination centres had been set up for a total of 75,000 students.

He said that 60,000 students of government schools and 15,000 students of private schools would appear in the examinations that would start on March 2.

The controller said that 300 examination centres had been set up for boys and 180 for girl students. He said that more than 50 per cent of the private schools got registration for the examinations for which 2,400 teachers were appointed as superintendents and invigilators.

GREEN DAY PAKISTAN: The botany department of University of Malakand on Tuesday observed Green Day Pakistan during a function.

Prof Nisar Mohammad Khan, the chairman of the department, was chief guest on the occasion. The teachers and students planted saplings in botanical garden to mark the day.
