Druggists criticise Punjab govt over Lahore blast

Bureau Report 2017-02-15
PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Chemists and Drug Association (PCDA), Mardan chapter, on Tuesday staged a rally outside the Mardan Press Club against the terrorist attack on the protest of the Punjab Medical Stores Association and Chemist and Druggist Association in Lahore and criticised the Punjab government for failing to provide security to the people.

The rally was led by Markaz-iTanzeem-i Tajiran president Haji Ihsanullah Bacha, general secretary Pervez Babu, Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Sajjad Khan, PCDA vice president Alam Din and others.

Addressing protesters, the speakers condemned the attack and said the Punjab government had failed to provide security to the innocent protesters.

They rejected the new drug rules of the Punjab government and protested against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for deciding to implement them in own province, too.

The speakers warned if the KP government enforced those rules, owners would close down medical stores and take to the streets.

Later, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
