KARACHI: Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has declared that the modernisation of police is his top priority.

He said this after inaugurating the Sharea Faisal Model Police Station on Friday.

He said a total of 33 policestations across the province were being upgraded, including eight in Karachi, and the government had allocated Rs288.41 million for their renovation.

`I envision police stations as safe spaces where citizensfeelheard,secure, and confident that justice willbe served,` he said and acknowledged the current hesitancy some people feel about visiting police stations.

`This perception must change,` he said, underscoring the police`s fundamental duty to serve the public.-Staff Reporter
