Cops demand better facilities at police stations, checkposts

LAKKI MARWAT: Police officials have asked their regional and district bosses to provide them with better accommodation facilities at the police stations and checkposts.

They made the demand during separate `darbars` held at the police lines in Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts on Friday.

Regional police officer Imran Shahid, Bannu district police officer Ziauddin Ahmed, Lakki Marwat DPO Mohammad Jawad Ishaq and SP investigations Ageeg Hussain heard problems faced by cops and issued directions to relevant officials for quick remedial measures.

Policewomen were also in attendance.

The police officials also demanded increasing the amount of their welfare fund and promotions.

RPO Imran Shahid said police darbars had been arranged on the instructions of newly-posted IGP Zulfiqar Hameed.

He asked the cops to improve their professional skills and discharge their responsibilities with honesty.

He said all the problems faced by the cops would be resolved on a priority.

Separately, Lakki Marwat DPO Mohammad Jawad Ishaq reshuffled six officials, including two SHOs, on Friday.

According to an order, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Waseeullah,who was servingin Ghaznikhelpolice station, has been made SHO of Bragi police station. He will replace ASI Shakirullah, who has been directed to report to the Wanda Banochi checkpost as an in-charge officer.

ASI Muzaffar Khan of Serai Gambila police station was transferred and posted SHO of Dadiwala police station.

Naurang city checkpost in-charge officer sub-inspector Qudratullahwasmade SHO of Tajoripolice station,replacing Sub-Inspector (SI) Asmatullah, who would assume charge of Naurang city police post.

SI Naeem Khan waiting for posting after being transferred from Bannu district has been appointed as SHO of Ghaznikhel police station.

GAME EVENTS: Two more game events held under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister`s Awami Sports Gala concluded with colourful prize distribution ceremonies here on Friday.

The district administration organised the tournaments in collaboration with the sports department.

A big crowd gathered at the Tehsil Playground in Serai Naurang to watch the final of the kabaddi tournament.

The supporters raised the players of the winning team on their shoulders and danced on drumbeats.

The final of the cricket tournament, played at Sahil Naseer ground in Lakki city, also attracted crowd.

District sports officer Ihsanullah Khan and district youth officer Irshadullah distributed trophies and cash prizes among the players of the winning and runner-up teams. Correspondent
