Gang involved in minors` abduction, rape busted

LAHORE: The Child Welfare and Protection Bureau (CWPB) and Bhati Gate police in a joint operation busted a gang comprising three men allegedly involved in kidnapping and sexually assaulting children.

According to CWPB spokesman, police and CWPB team had some days back rescued two children -Ali Raza, son of Kaleem, and Ali Raza, son of Mukhtar.

He said the victims revealed that three people after abducting them from different areas of the citytook them to a shanty near Parinda Market, Bhati Gate, where they intoxicated them and sexually abused them.

He said in the light of the information a raid was conducted during which Akram Molvi, Zeeshan Karachiwala and Raza were arrested. A child, identified as Haider Ali, son of Ghazanfar Ali, was also recovered from the suspects hideout during the raid, he added.

Police have registered a case against the suspects and handed the children over to the CWPB officials who shifted them to a rehabilitation centre.

Police said medical examinationof the children would also be conducted to ascertain that they were sexually assaulted.

SHOT DEAD: A young man was shot dead allegedly over a land dispute in Shera Kot area on Monday.

Police said Abdul Waheed, 32, a rickshaw driver, was found shot dead in his house. Police said the victim was having a property dispute with his brothers-in-law.

The police say the victim`s wife has alleged that Waheed was shot dead by his own brothers when she was in washroom. On the other hand, the victim`s brothers accuse Waheed`s brothers-in-law of killing him.

The police shifted the body tocity morgue for an autopsy.

Investigating Officer Sub-Inspector Amin said both parties want to become complainants in the case.

He said police were investigating the matter.

ACCIDENT: A 37-year-motorcyclist was crushed to death in an accident in Shahdara on Monday.

Police said Muzaffar Hussain Shah of Nain Sukh was on his way to Kutchehry (district courts) when a speeding truck hit him near Sag gian Bridge. The man suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.

Police reached the spot, impounded the truck and registered a case against the driver.
