PTI workers protest anti-women remarks

2017-03-15
MINGORA: A large number of PTI workers on Tuesday stage a protest against the `abusive language used by PML-N MNA Javed Latif against PTI lawmaker Murad Saeed`s sisters` and demanded the disqualification of the `offender` as member of the National Assembly.

The incident took place last Thursday outside Parliament House after a National Assembly session.

The protesters first gathered at Nishat Chowk holding banners and placards and shouting slogans against the PML-N lawmaker and then marched up to the Swat Press Club.

MPA Fazal Hakim said parliamentarians of civilised nations never used abusive language and that Javed Latif`s abusive language was not aimed at Murad Saeed`s sisters but at the mothers and sisters of the entire KP.

He said the prime minister, who led the PMLN, should dismiss the `offender` from the party and National Assembly as well.

The MPA said parliament had own sanctity, where laws were made for the people`s welfare.

He said the PTI would continue promoting `a culture of civilised language and gestures` inside parliament. He said the use of abusive language by lawmakers was a big concern for the people. Correspondent
