N A R O W A L : Additional District and Sessions Judge Rana Tariq Mehmood Anjum has awarded the death sentence to a murder accused on Tuesday.
The court acquitted the three accused, giving them a benefit of doubt due to lack of evidence.
Announcing the verdict in the murder case, the court awarded the capital punishment to Muhammad Hamid after he proved guilty of thecrime. It acquitted other accused in the case, namely Muhammad Ayub, Muhammad Salman and Heera.
Hamid had shot dead Muhammad Khalil Butt on March 23, 2020. His brother, Shahid, had contracted a court marriage with Butt`s daughter Humaira.
There was a dispute between the two families over the marriage that resulted in murder of Butt.
Police Station Raya Khas had completed investigation of the case.
