ISLAMABAD: Armed men committed another dacoity on the second consecutive day in the capital and looted cash and valuables worth over Rs8.1 million from a house, police said on Friday.

Besides, criminals looted/stole cash and valuables worth over Rs5 million from two other houses and a shop.

A six-member gang of dacoits looted local and foreign currency, gold ornaments and other valuables worth over Rs8.1million from the house of an army officer located in the limits of Loi Bher police.

The gunmen raided the house when only servants were present. One of the servants managed to inform his employer`s wife who along with her children was out of the house. She immediately informed the police at 15 and her neighbours and rushed towards the house.

After about half an hour, she reached home and found it ransacked and looted.

Later, the police also reached the house.

The dacoits looted Rs2.2 million, $7,000, Riyal 10,000, Dirham 10,000 along with five tola gold ornaments, two Rolex wrist watches worth Rs2 million, a Rado wrist watch worth Rs200,000, a mobile phone worth Rs400,000 and other valuables along with some confidential military documents, said the police.

A day earlier, six dacoits looted over Rs4 million from a bank located half a kilometre from the Industrial Area police station and a few hundred meters away from the CIA centre.

In another incident, four robbers looted Rs350,000 from a super store located on Kahuta Road in Sihala.

Moreover, burglars stole foreign currency and valuables worth over Rs4 million from a house in the area of Shalimar police.

The incident took place at the house of Syed Ayaz Mehboob at F-11/2 during absence of the residents. The burglars stole $2,000, a Rolex watch worth Rs3.5 million, gold ornaments and a pistol.

Likewise, thieves stole cash and valuables worth Rs850,000 from the house of Naeem Ahmed at G-15/1 in Tarnol.

Two women swindled Rs136,000 out of a citizen, said the police. Mohammad Babar told the police that he went to an ATM at I-10 and withdrew Rs30,000.

The two unidentified women appeared there and requested him to help them in using their card. Later, they withdrew Rs136,000 from his bank account using another ATM, he said.
