FIA investigations

2016-04-15
APROPOS the news (April 10) that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has asked PTI Chairman Imran Khan to pick any officers of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate the accusations about the offshore companies owned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif`s family and other politicians.

The public has no confidence in the FIA.

How can it investigate the prime minister and his family, as the agency is headed by a PML-N minister? The public is witness to the PML-N government`s inquiry into the Model Town tragedy, the Ogra scam, the Haj scandal, the Asghar Khan case and model Ayyan Ali`s trial.

The FIA has failed to deliver and the interior minister should accept this fact rather than address hour-long press conferences praising the FIA.
