THIS refers to woes of 825 victims of a modaraba scam whereby the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered over Rs50 million in the Mufti Ihsanul Haq case.
The NAB authorities through an advertisement in the press invited applications from the victims of the scam in June 2013. Over 800 victims applied for the recovery of their looted money. NAB Rawalpindi recovered more than 80pc of the amount but has failed to release payment to the victims despite a lapse ofalmost three years.
According to NAB officials, the recovered money is lying in the National Bank, Islamabad, awaiting a go-ahead by NAB high-ups. The NAB chairman is requested take personal interest in the case and order the release of the payment to the victims.
