Unity needed against enemies of country: governor

RAWALPINDI: Defence Minister Khwaja Mohammad Asif discussed important national and political matters with Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana at the Punjab House here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor said the country needed unity and harmony to foil evil designs of its enemies.

He said public service was the main agenda of the PML-N government due to which record development and public welf are projects had been launched and completed. He said maintaining peace and elimination of terrorism had always remained the top priorities of the PML-N government.

He said terrorism had been eliminated through measures taken by the government and the cooperation of all institutions. Now the focus of the government is on restoration of the economy so that maximum relief could be provided to the people.

He said the government had launched and completed historic development and public welfare projects in southern Punjab.

He said CPEC would change the destiny of the country and would benefit the whole region.

He said due to economic activities in Pakistan, its enemies wanted to create unrest in the country but their designs would be foiled.

The defence minister said strengthening of institutions was also the priority of the government. He said electricity loadshedding would end by 2018.

He said the defence of the country was invincible and the people of the country would foil all evil designs of the enemy. He said the government was making all-out efforts to maintain peace in the country.
