KARACHI: A young woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband in the name of so-called honour in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Monday evening, police said.

Gulshan SHO Naeem Rajput said that Sarfraz Ahmed had been arrested for murdering his 25-year-old wife, Saima Bibi.

He said that the couple had been living in a room on the roof of a private school in Block-2.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. The police claimed to have recovered a knife, the murder weapon.

The SHO said that the suspect showed no remorse. He added that the suspect confessed to killing his wife because he had doubts about her character.

Man dies after crashing into parked tanker

A man died after his motorcycle collided with a parked water tanker in the Defence Housing Authority on Monday evening, police said.

SSP-South Mahzoor Ali said that the victim was identified as Sabir Husain, 56.

He said the police had obtained CCTV footage, which clearly showed that the deceased had collided with a stationary water tanker near a shopping mall on main Korangi Road.

He added that the body was handed over to the relatives after medico-legal formalities at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. —Staff Reporter
