New IHC judges outperform seniors

ISLAMABAD: While the veteran judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) apparently occupied with the legal battle for their seniority, the newly appointed judges outperformed them in deciding the cases in March.

According to the data available at the IHC`s Official Website, Justice Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas who assumed the office in January this year decided 225 cases during the previous month.

Acting Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Sarfraz Dogar disposed of 178 petitions, another newly appointed judge Mohammad Azam Khan decided 162 cases.

The senior most judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani disposed of 60petitions, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri 66, Justice Babar Sattar 40, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan 57, Justice Arbab Mohammad Tahir 85, Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz 38, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro 33 and Justice Mohammad Asif decided 75 cases.

The senior most judges filed the petition before the Supreme Court against the transfer of Justice Dogar from the Lahore High Court, Justice Soomro from Sindh High Court and Justice Asif from Balochistan High Court.

The Supreme Court heard the petition on Monday and issuednoticestotherespondents of the judges petition including these three judges.
