Six students caught cheating in 9th grade annual board exams

RAWALPINDI: Board of Intermediate andSecondaryEducation(BISE)Rawalpindi on Monday caught six students red handed while cheating during the 9th grade annual examination and suspended deputy superintendent and invigilator for violating the examination standard operating procedures.

According to BISE Rawalpindi spokesman Arslan Cheema, three candidates were caught red-handed for cheating in the examination centre at Government High School Miani Bala Sohawa, Jhelum including two girls.

Sinilarly, two students in Government High School Dera Khalsa Kallar Syedan and Government High School Galayra Gali Murree were caught cheating while one candidate at Government Shehbaz Sharif Associate School Khayaban-i-Sir Syed wascaught appearing in the examination in place of another candidate.

He said the students were caught with the help of online monitoring cameras using modern technology. Teams were immediately sent to these centres and an unfair means case was registered against them and sent to the Board Office of the Government of Punjab.

BISE Chairman Adnan Khan visited various examination centres and undertook a detailed review of the examination process, administrative matters and facilities provided to the students.

Mr Khan said according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, education system is being developed on the basis of transparency, merit and rule of law. He said BISE Rawalpindi was also strictly followingzero tolerance policy under these principles.

To ensure transparency of examinations, an effective system of secret monitoring has been activated with the assistance of Provincial Minister for Higher Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, Secretary Higher Education Punjab Dr Farrukh Naveed, district administration and special branch so that any kind of illegal activity or copying can be stopped in time.

Controller of Examinations Rawalpindi Board Tanveer Asghar Awan made an emergency visit to the examination centres of Government Associate College for Boys Sohawa, Government Associate College for Women Sohawa, Government Boys High School Sohawa and Government High School Miani Bala in Jhelum district.
