Bike rider hit and killed, another injured by drug peddler: police

RAWALPINDI: A motorcyclist was killed and another person was injured after being hit by a car whose driver tried to escape duringajointoperation by the Westridge police and the AntiNarcotics Force against drug smugglers.
The police said two vehicles were seized, more than 74 kg hashish and 1200 grams of opium recovered.
The police termed it the biggest action against drug smugglers this year.
According to a spokesman, Westridge police and the ANF took action and arrested an inter-provincial drug smuggler identified as Shehzad. His accomplice identified as Yasir escaped leaving behind the vehicle. A huge consignment of drugs was recovered from the suspect. The spokesman said while driving at a high speed to avoid the police, one ofthe suspected drug smugglers hit a motorcycle, killing one person and seriously injuring another.
The police said technical and human intelligence sources were being used to arrest the escaped drug dealer. Staff Reporter
