LAKKI MARWAT: Elders have banned the entry of non-locals and carrying of weapons in Gandi Khankhel union council of Lakki Marwat as part of efforts to maintain peace in the rural localities.
The decisions were made during a meeting of the localpeacebodyonMonday.
Elders and clans` chiefs presented valuable suggestions to improve law and order and assist law enforcement agencies in establishing the government writ.
Elders expressed concern over movement of strangers and surge in drug addiction in the area.
They also discussed matters pertaining to girl education and shortage of doctors in the basic health unit.
The elders made clear that carrying of weapons after 10pm without any proper justification was not allowed at all.
They said they would use their influence to curb sale of narcotics and save youth from drug addiction.
The elders also made clear they would not support arms carriers posing as members of the peace committee and that the area police would be free to initiate action against such people.
SHOT DEAD: A man and his nephew were killed by armed men in Tajori town of LakkiMarwat on Monday.
Police said Mohammad Ali, his brother, Sabir Kamal and nephew, Noor Aslam had gone to the guest room of Qadeem Khan to settle a firing dispute with Razaullah and party.
`In the meantime, Qadeem, Rizwan and Naimatullah came there and opened fire, killing Ali and Aslam on the spot, they said.
Police said the bodies were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital, Tajazai, for postmortem.
They said they had initiated an investigation after registering a case against thekillers.-Correspondent
