Pakistan first

2025-05-15
AT a time when national security was under threat, it was truly disheartening to see a particular segment of society, solely comprising sympathisers of the main opposition party, trying to push outlandish conspiracy theories and political agendas instead of standing united with the nation.

This was not a time for divisions or for pointing fingers. Suggesting that the recent Pakistan-India tension was `scripted` or `pre-planned` was highly irresponsible.

It surely disrespected the sacrifices and readiness of our armed forces.

Some of these people went as far as doubting the capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and our air defence system, asking how Indian drones could enter Pakistani territory. This nonsense continued even after the whole technical thing was explained by the relevant spokespersons. Instead of doubting our own people, we should have given them the credit they so thoroughly deserved.

Those using such a critical time to push political agenda by targeting the ruling coalition just for point-scoring failed to understand that when it comes to national integrity, there is no ruling party or the opposition; there is only Pakistan. One can go on and recall what the current opposition party had done in its time in power, but, as I said, this is not the time.

This is a time when unity is not optional; it is essential. Pakistan comes first; always.
