KMU launches first literary magazine

PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University launched its first-ever student-led literary magazine titled `Nida-i-Khyber` at a ceremony on Wednesday.

The event showcased creative and literary talents of students. A large number of faculty members and students attended the event, a press release said.

KMU Vice-chancellor Prof Ziaul Haq, poet Prof Abaseen Yousafzai and poet Dr Bakhtzada Danish were chief guests on the occasion.

Prof Zia appreciated efforts of students and said that in the era of artificial intelligence, creativity was a major challenge.

Platforms like Nida-iKhyber provide students with an invaluable opportunity to develop and showcase their creative potential. He said that the launchof magazine reflected a beautiful fusion of science and art at KMU.

He said that universities played crucial role in shaping and developing societies. A key goal of KMU is to foster holistic and balanced personality development in its students. He expressed the hope that Nida-i-Khyber would serve as a springboard for students to explore and enhance their hidden creative abilities.

Prof Abaseen Yousafzai and Dr Bakhtzada Danish said that such activities not only nurtured creative thinking among students but also enriched cultural and literary environment of academic institutions.

The faculty and students of KMU appreciated the literary initiative, recognising it as a positive step towards strengthening the university`s academic and co-curricular atmosphere.
