KOHAT: Jamiat Ulema-iIslam-Fazl MPA Najma Shaheen Paracha has advised Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan to come out of Nawaz phobia and do something concrete for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She said that public polls showed PTPs certain defeat in 2018 elections.

Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, she claimed that Mr Khan had been sending delegations to JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for making election alliance, seat adjustments and making future coalition government, but in public he was maligning their leader.

She said that Mr Khan had been calling the PPP the most corrupt party, but was now accepting its leaders into the PTI fold.

She lamented that the PTI-led provincial government had not undertaken any mega project and alleged that all its policies like education emergency and provision of modern health facilities had fizzled out.

Ms Paracha said that she was here at the press conference to highlight the anomaly by local MPs who received Rs830 million as oil and gas royalty every year, but even hospitals were in worst conditions and short of staff, machinery and necessary buildings. She said that all the discoveries had been made in Kohat, Karak and Hangu, but they remained deprived of the benefits.

The MPA said that the trauma centre at the KDA teaching hospital was awaiting machinery, including CT Scan and MRI, for the last five years, but the government was unable to allocate just Rs30 million for this.

`It is so sad that a victim ofserious head or spine injury has to be referred to Peshawar from Kohat due to lack of trauma facilities,` she lamented.

She added that there was shortage of 72 doctors at the KDA hospital for the last four years.

POLICE SACRIFICES: Acknowledging the sacrifices of police martyrs in restoring peace in the country, district police officer Javed Iqbal on Wednesday established a special cell for looking after their families.

He distributed Ramazan pacl(age among the families and also announced to release Eid package a week earlier so that they could also participate in the celebrations.

Chairing a meeting of the cell, he directed all the subdivisional police officers and SHOs concerned to listen to the grievances of the heirs and solve their problems on priority.
