LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has planned a major event in the local municipal stadium for June 21 to observe its slain leader and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto`s 69th birth anniversary. Party sources said that it would be a huge gathering matching the events that used to be organised in Garhi Khuda Bukhsh Bhutto on various occasions.

PPP chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, several federal and provincial ministers and prominent party leaders will address the participants, the sources said.

Larkana Deputy Commissioner Tariq Manzoor Chandio chaired a meeting of heads of various departments in Bagum Nusrat Bhutto Hall on Tuesday to discuss arrangements for the public meeting.

The DC assigned different tasks to the departmental heads for traf fic management, security of leaders and participants, uninterrupted power supply to the venue andcleanliness.

He asked the public health engineering department to build temporary washrooms on an urgent basis and make lighting arrangements at the stadium. He said the arrangement would be reviewed and finalised in the next meeting, to be held on June 18.-Correspondent
